Volunteers make a HUGE difference at our shelter daily! YOU can help in a variety of ways. You could serve a meal, volunteer for one of our special projects during your free time or commit to an ongoing volunteer position.
You could also share your talents or skills by offering your time to help us in a more professional capacity.
We are always looking for volunteers who may possess – and be able to share their – expertise, skills & talents in a variety of areas.
Here's how YOU can get involved:

Attend one of our Volunteer Orientation sessions. We hold these orientations monthly and it is a great time for you, the volunteer, to learn and grow! We will teach you more about Siena/Francis House, our mission and volunteer opportunities available to you. You will even have time to sign up at the orientation. These sessions are not mandatory for service, but helpful and informational. CLICK HERE to get signed up.
What does sharing your time or talent look like? How about serving an evening dinner meal or Sunday morning brunch? The Siena/Francis House provides over 400,000 meals each year. We need volunteers to serve these meals to the homeless daily.
Volunteers serve the evening dinner meal to those experiencing homelessness from 4:30 until 7:00 p.m. every day of the year. Volunteers also serve brunch to the homeless from 8:30 until 11:00 a.m. every Sunday morning.
Volunteering to serve a meal is a great activity for groups or individuals who are trying to become better acquainted with our shelter and organization. It is also a great way to provide a real and meaningful service to our homeless guests.
Sign up for meal service volunteering is required by all individuals and groups. All volunteers must check in and sign in upon arrival. We strive for a meaningful experience for all volunteers, having a schedule assists us in providing this experience, as well as meeting the needs of our kitchen in providing the many thousands of meals served each year.

Grab the kids, grandma and grandpa, aunts, uncles, friends, classmates and co-workers and join us for our monthly all ages opportunities. We offer an opportunity for volunteers of all ages to participate in a low impact, soft skills, one-time activity to create items that will bring joy to those who reside in our shelter.
These 1-2 hours activities are fun for the whole family. We have created candy bags, stuffed Easter eggs and even made holiday decorations. Individuals and groups are welcome. It's a great opportunity to get the little ones engaged in service early. Sign up information for these events can be found online on our Facebook page.
