Siena Francis House welcomes and empowers those experiencing homelessness to navigate their path to housing.
Walking into our women’s emergency shelter a couple weeks ago, I met a very distraught young woman named Chloe. Chloe seemed so frightened that she could hardly speak to me…or to anyone. Frankly, she barely made eye contact. Even so, Chloe’s swollen cheek and bruised, blackened eyes spoke volumes.
About three weeks ago, Sarah was living in her car, parked on a street not far from a local non-profit that provides outpatient mental health services. Sarah – desperately trying to deal with her overwhelming depression, and to get back on her feet – locked her car as she went in for an appointment. When Sarah returned, her car was gone.
In-kind donations are accepted at our new facility. The donation dock is accessible from 16th Street less than 1 block north of Nicholas. The dock is open from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday only. The dock is closed on Sundays and major holidays.
