Street Outreach
In 2020, Siena Francis House began delivering outreach case management services to people living on the street.
Our street outreach team has undertaken this effort with tremendous success, working tirelessly to connect individuals on the street to mainstream resources to achieve positive housing.
The HUD Continuum of Care (CoC) Point-in-Time Count recorded a staggering 35% increase in street homelessness between 2021 and 2023, though the pace slowed a bit from 2022 to 2023, with a 27% rise. During this period, 482 individuals in the Omaha, Council Bluffs area exited street homelessness into positive housing.
Remarkably, our Street Outreach team was responsible for helping 296 of those individuals find acceptable housing, representing 61% of all housing placements in the Omaha, Council Bluffs CoC.
